MOSCOW, Dec 24 (PRIME) -- Russian industrial corporation Rostec wants to supply equipment for 5G networks not only to domestic operators, but also to foreign providers, including in Africa, business daily Kommersant reported on Tuesday, citing a roadmap on the technology development.

Rostec suggests investing 169.4 billion rubles in 5G by 2024, including the 62.6 billion rubles already stipulated by the budget and 35.5 billion rubles needed additionally, and 71 billion rubles will be borrowed from non-budget sources.

The government and Rostec will sign inter-governmental agreements by 2022 to pilot and introduce domestic 5G solutions on networks of foreign operators, according to the roadmap drafted by the corporation and state-controlled telecom operator Rostelecom.

In particular, framework agreements on cooperation on supplies to African countries are expected to be signed on the Russia-Africa Economic Forum 2020.

The roadmap was submitted to the Digital Development Ministry, Rostelecom and the government’s analytical center 18 for approval on December and will be then handed to the government.
